A 19th century three-storey traditional rammed mud and
timber house in Kawangjangsa, Thimphu, was turned into a
folk heritage museum to document traditional Bhutanese
lifestyle. The concept of establishing a Folk Heritage
Museum originated from Her Majesty the Queen Ashi Dorji
Wangmo Wangchuck, in 1997.
